Notice anything about these cards?

I must say, I had them in my collection for two years but didn't notice them until this week when I was cataloguing.

Look carefully at the back of this card:

The blurb says Altherr was born in Germany, but the stats say he was born in Arizona. So which is it?

As a history fan (and history teacher) I definitely appreciate the idea behind the "This Day in History" insert set. 75 cards is probably a bit too big for me to collect it, so I'll probably stick with certain players and teams.

But Topps, when deciding who to put in the set, do you think it was a good idea to include a player that's well-known for perpetrating fraud with respect to his birthday?


Can we even trust the date on the back of that card?
